ATAL TINKERING LAB INAUGURATION CEREMONY 2019

Our school stands for learning through exploration, experimentation and experience. We are very happy to announce that on Wednesday, 11thSeptember 2019. Padmashree Dr. Shivram Bhoje (Indian Nuclear Scientist) and Director Principal Sasmita Mohanty of SGIS inaugurated ATAL Tinkering Lab in Sanjay Ghodawat International School, Kolhapur. He guided students about how science and technology is useful in our life and how wisely we need to use resources, it was wonderful interactive session with students. We are proud of being one of the schools selected under the ATAL Innovation mission. With a vision to cultivate one million child innovators in India, ATAL innovation mission by NITI Aayog and government of India envisaged a novel program i.e. establishment of Atal Tinkering labs in school across the country. It is a step towards new India. The word tinkering itself indicates the method of learning i.e. learning by Doing or hands on experience. ATAL Tinkering Lab is a work space where young minds can give shape to their ideas through hand on learning mode. Young children will get a chance to work with tools and gadgets to understand the concept of Science, Technology, Math and Engineering. ATAL Tinkering Lab contains educational and learning by doing kits like Science, Electronics, Robotics open source Micro controller Boards, Sensors, Soldering station, Drilling station, DIY Kits, Telescope, 3D Printer, Drone and other tools and gadgets. The main attraction of this lab is 3D printer. This step towards the innovation will bring curiosity and constructive development among the students of SGIS.
